former Ice Cream House [gone]
Fayetteville, PA
The Ice Cream House features a sweet little course. According to the present owners, it was built in 1979 in the "old style." When these photos were taken in 2004, the obstacles had been rebuilt to resemble the originals and new carpets were put in. However, by the 2012 the course looked abandoned. By 2018, the course appeared to be gone. The ice cream place had become a pizza shop.

Sunset Golf
South Park Township, PA
Sunset Golf was built in 1956 and features a wonderful course blending the old and new. Many of the holes are animated. When you place your ball on the tee, the rocket emits steam obscuring the hole. The bear growls and dares you to "fire". Another hole spins on a turntable. There is also a driving range. [map]

Caddie Shak Family Fun Center
Donegal, PA
Caddie Shak is a 50-acre "family fun park" offering go karts, bumper boats, batting cages, paintball, kiddie rides, a driving range and two miniature golf courses. The Olde Mini Golf Course is the older of the two with some traditional elements but also plenty of rocks-and-water. The Highlander Mini Golf Course opened around 2001 and has longer greens. But what I like best about the place are the chipmunks that constantly and boldly streak through the course as you're playing. For more, see this website. [map]

Funcastle Fun Center
Greencastle, PA
The Funcastle Fun Center was built in 1996 by the Harris Miniature Golf Company. It has a few classic figures set on well-maintained greens. They also feature go-karts and an arcade. [map]

Wood's Golf Center [gone]
Norristown, PA
Wood's Golf Center opened in 1957. The mini golf had two theme courses: "The Adventures of Sinbad" and "The Land of Dinosaurs". These courses featured hand-made figures, fog, and sound effects. They also had a full-sized golf course, a driving range, and a chip & putt. These photos are from 2007. Wood's Golf Center closed in 2010. By 2013, it had been replaced by the Einstein Medical Center. The Cyclops statue was apparently moved to Old Pro Golf's 23rd Street location in Ocean City, MD. I don't know if any of the other statues were saved.
