These Eye sculptures were designed by Tony Tasset and produced by FAST Fiberglass. They are made of steel-reinforced fiberglass. The one in St. Louis was installed at the Laumeier Sculpture Park in 2007 as a permanent exhibit. It is 12 feet tall.
The other Eye is 30 feet tall. It was installed in Chicago's Pritzker Park in 2010 as a temporary exhibit. It was then moved back to FAST in Sparta, WI. In 2013, the Eye was moved to Dallas where it remains in the Joule Hotel gardens for now. [map].

The Awakening

The Awakening is a sculpture created by J. Seward Johnson in 1980. It depicts a 100-foot-long statue of a giant awakening and struggling to raise himself out of the ground. The artwork is composed of five pieces: a knee, an arm, a hand, a foot, and a head. It was originally installed in Washington, DC at Hains Point. In 2008, it was moved to the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, MD. For more, see these websites: 1 and 2. [map]

Awaking Muse

The Awaking Muse is installed on the grounds of the Atcher Municipal Center. The limestone sculpture was produced by Meg White in 2006. It is 40 feet long. According to the artist, the Greek goddess whispers inspiration to anyone who sits in her hand. The fencing above was temporary when these photos were taken in 2012. The bronze Pastoral Dreamer sculpture is 19 feet long. The original sculpture was created by David Phelps in 1989. From that, bronze statues were created by Deep in the Heart Art Foundry in Bastrop, TX. There are or were identical castings displayed in Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Easton, MD; Golden Beach, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Edgartown, MA; Wayzata, MN; Santa, Fe, NM; and Norman, OK.
